"Farmers are our feeders". These are the same people, because of which we are destined to eat something. There are three primary requirements in human life - (1.) Bread (2.) Clothes and (3.) Houses. Food is the first requirement of our life. No matter how much we earn in life, but if food is not available then nothing is found. But have you ever thought about the farmers who harvest this grain day and night? How is their life, have you ever noticed?

I have to say with disgust that the condition of these farmers who grow 'valuable' food for all of us is not as good as it should be at the present time. Sometimes the situation becomes such that they have got food today but nothing is known about what they will eat tomorrow. Most of the farmers' homes are also torn down. Somehow they live.

The farmer gets up early in the morning at 4 o'clock and goes towards his fields and works hard in his fields since morning. Due to his hard work, he/she prepares the crop by going through various practices in the fields and then he/she reaches the grain to our homes. Surprise happens when due to many adverse circumstances, the grain has to be sold for less than the cost price.

Many natural disasters like flood, storm, cyclone also ruins the crop in the fields. Many times insects are available with crops, which ruins the entire crop. Crops are also destroyed due to hail and snow. The terror of locusts has caused a lot of damage to crops this time, perhaps you must have heard through the news.

Due to lack of sufficient water, the land becomes barren, causing crops to be ruined. Being distressed, many farmers commit suicide. You must have heard such incidents happen every year. Such sad incidents also happen in many other countries including Maharashtra and South India. The sad thing seems even more so when only a food giver does not get food.

The indifferent attitude of the governments is not less in this. Where on one side the food provider does not get food, on the other hand, when you go through a grain storage area, you will see that there is a lot of rotting grains. Thousands of metric tons of grains are wasted every year either due to maintenance or for other reasons. You will always get to hear this, where the waste of wheat, the destruction of paddy, the waste of onions, the destruction of potatoes. After all, why does this happen?

At present, the situation in India as well as many countries is such that now the number of cultivators is gradually decreasing. There are many reasons for this. One, the respect of farmers in society is decreasing day by day. If someone says that I am a farmer, then society does not respect him as much as someone says that I am in a job.

People of the society have to change their thinking towards farmers. About 70% of India's population is dependent on agriculture only. The Ministry of Agriculture maintains an important position with all the Ministries. The government has also started thinking about the farmers. Many schemes are being run like Crop Insurance Scheme and it is helpful for farmers.

We all should look at the farmers with a proper place in the society, otherwise one day it will come that there will be no farmers in our society and we will become fascinated for every single grain. We have to make every effort to ensure that farmers get respect in the society.
